How do we capture the world with our hearts? “Analog Heart” is a film photography workshop that introduces the analog process to all those who are new but familiar with the world of film photography. We will go over what the color negative, BW, and color positive are, the mechanics of a 35mm SLR camera, and how to begin exploring what subjects and objects capture your heart and camera’s eye. We will conclude the workshop with a group photo walk around the Gowanus neighborhood.
Workshop attendees are required to bring in their own film cameras to shoot with. SLR cameras are recommended but not required. Each workshop attendee will be given a complimentary roll of film at random to shoot. Development of film roll will be the responsibility of the attendee after the workshop.
All ages are welcome. This is an introductory course, so it may not be appropriate for seasoned photographers though everyone is welcome.
Refreshments are provided.
