Saturday, February 15, 7-10pm

Come sip some bubbly and get your hands on some clay on Valentine's Day weekend! In this ceramics workshop, you will learn basic handbuilding techniques such as pinching, coiling, slab making, handles/attachments to create a ceramics piece of your very own! Students will add color to their pieces, and they will be fired to be picked up in 2 weeks.

All ages & levels welcome, including absolute beginners! Materials, tools, and refreshments are provided. Non-alcoholic beverages are always available, so don't let the name of the workshop deter you from joining us :)

*PLEASE NOTE* Because this is a ceramics workshop, your pieces will need to dry and be fired by Casey so you will have to leave your creations behind temporarily for this process. We will notify you to pick up your finished pieces approximately 2 weeks from the workshop date. This is typical of the ceramics process, and we promise it’ll be worth it!

Max Capacity: 12 students

😷 We STRONGLY PREFER masking in our space.
We have free masks for you, but prefer that you bring your own to reduce waste.

*Should you require mandatory masking at this event, please let us know by leaving a note at checkout. We are happy to accommodate you, including providing masks, upon request.

Casey Lin (she/her) is a Brooklyn-based sculptor, Illustrator, and a teaching artist originally from Queens. Casey received her BFA in 2016 from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She is currently a 2026 MS Ed. candidate at Bank Street College of Education. Lin’s artwork is rooted in the play of materials and figuring out various processes that work well with their materiality. She enjoys sculpting with craft materials as well as ceramics, metals, and textiles. Her recent work explores womanhood and femininity through sculpture and installations, as well as incorporating her art education background in curating community workshops and exhibitions at local ceramics studios and community art spaces. Her larger ceramic sculptures explore the body and parasitic forms.

Lin’s work has been exhibited in Chicago, Indiana, Milwaukee, New York, Tennessee, Maine, and Wisconsin. You can find her small sculptures and wares for sale at local businesses including From Here To Sunday, Brooklyn Horticulture, and Yard Sale Cafe.
