Chris Deng: A Journey Ahead Zine

A Journey Ahead, written by Chris Deng and designed by Jiami Lee, is the culmination of a four-month storytelling series hosted with Grand Street Settlement's Baruch Elders Services Team (B.E.S.T), the Naturally Occurring Retirement Community (N.O.R.C), and Life Story Club during the summer of 2022.

Every week Chris met in a courtyard with a group of Chinese-speaking elders who have resided in Two Bridges and Chinatown for the last 20 years, navigating conversations in Cantonese, Mandarin, Fuzhounese, and Taishanese. Their stories have been recorded and translated, archived in this special book to share each of their journeys.
